Tuning In

If how we do anything is how we do everything, then the ability to understand one’s own feelings as the body’s language of needs enables effective action. This directly impacts one’s capacity to show up in life authentically. It enables us to connect harmoniously with others in the play space.

By developing emotional intelligence, one can increase the capacity to tune in to what others are feeling, needing, and wanting. In turn, this affects one’s bandwidth to hold space for and meet the needs of others. All while finding the balance between being true to yourself while connecting with another.

3 types of Tuning In

  1. Initial Check-in: a somatic awareness practice to remain embodied before, during and after interacting with others. By acknowledging one’s own sense of Grounding, Breath, and Safety as a starting point, we can then commence the practice of keeping a majority of one’s awareness inside the body from moment to moment.

  2. My Four Energy Centres: a somatic awareness practice of checking in with the body’s mental, emotional, instinctual and sexual impulses to align action to one’s own needs and desires.

  3. Commingling with Others: a group exercise of approaching others while sensing the response in your four energy centres as you connect with another.
